BCGers,

Andy Feinour and I are planning a golf tournament for everyone in the office, male and female, who is interested. The tournament format will be a four-person scramble. In a scramble, each team member hits a ball from each tee-box. Then, the ball with the best location is identified and all team members hit their balls from its location. The pattern continues. The number of hits that it takes the team to get a ball in the hole is the team's score for the whole. This format allows people of wildly different skill levels to have a good time playing together. Even people who have never played can contribute to a winning team.

We are tentatively planning on holding the outing on Saturday July 21st. We need to know how many people are interested in playing so we can reserve tee times for the group. Only when we find a course that can accommodate our group will we know how much the event will cost each participant. However, we think the total cost will be between $80 and $120, probably including some prizes, drinks, food, etc.

If we are able to play at one of the municipal courses, Andy (pending Shawnee's approval) might host a BBQ at his house afterward for everyone in the office and their families. Alternatively, we might try to make use of facilities that some courses have for such events.

Please use the voting buttons above this message to let me know if you are interested in the outing. Hitting 'yes' does not completely obligate you to play; however, please consider that I need to get a fairly accurate estimate of attendance because I will probably have to charge all of the green fees to my credit card when I make the reservation. If you reply "yes," please drag the icon below over your "Calendar" icon to enter the event into your calendar.

Thanks,

Erik
